NOTES:
“Passacaglia” is a classical piece based on music originally composed by Georg Friedrich Handel and later arranged by Johan Halvorsen. This piece is expressive, emotional, and dramatic. It is written in the style of passacaglia, which meens that a repeating bass lin or harmonic pattern continues throughout the entire piece while the melody varies and changes above it.

The music beginns in a calm and controlled way, but gradually becomes more powerful and intense. Each variation ads new ideas and more complex harmonies. The piece has strong dynamics and mood, which makes it exciting for both the audience and the performer. The structure is built around a serious of variations. The related harmonic pattern creates unity, while each variation develops the piece more.

I chose this piece because I really enjoy its dramatic character and the way the piece develops through different variations. I like how the music becomes more powerful over time and creates a lasting emotional impact. One challange I faced when playing this piece is keeping control during the technically demanding sections. This piece requires accurate finger work and coordination and careful attention to the rythm.

This piece is very important to me because it is my final performance and it shows how much I have improved over the last two years that I have been in advanced music. When I compare my playing now to the beginning of S6, I can clearly see progres in my technique, expression and confidence. I feel proud that I was able to learn this beautiful music piece.
